I’ve been thinking about change a lot lately. I guess part of it has to do with the new year, which isn’t so new anymore. But it seems like there have been a lot of changes lately, both for me and in the lives of my friends and family, which ultimately led me to kind-of reflect on the concept in general. My younger sister transferred from FSU to SCAD in Savannah. One of my blogger girlfriends rebranded her blog. A few gals I’m friends with changed their Instagram handles. Another girlfriend got a new job. One of my best friends just had her second baby. Changes all around!
Change is good. I don’t think we should be afraid of it. As humans, we’re constantly growing and changing, it’s healthy and natural. As we do so, I think it’s important to analyze what’s working for us and what isn’t, and then to have the courage to make the necessary changes to keep moving forward. The same-old same-old get’s… old. Change is important.
In my life, many of my changes were business related. I tweaked my logo. I made some minor changes to headings. I streamlined some things in my navigation bar. You also may have noticed that I changed my Instagram handle to @stephaniepernas from @asparklefactor. It’s something I had been thinking about doing for a long time, but was sort of afraid to do, truth be told! But I knew that I wanted to brand my Instagram more personally, and I knew that I wanted you guys, my friends, to feel more connected to me, as I feel so connected to YOU. I wanted you to think of me as “Stephanie Pernas”, not just as “A Sparkle Factor.” I can’t even count how many times I’ve been introduced somewhere as “A Sparkle Factor” or had someone refer to me as such. I do it too!! I refer to people by their blog names when I’m talking to my blogger girlfriends! And that’s fine, I love my blog and I love “A Sparkle Factor, but I’M not “A Sparkle Factor”. I’m Stephanie Pernas, and I write “A Sparkle Factor”. I know that seems weird, but I just wanted to make sure that you knew ME and not just what I do. Does that make sense?
I also made some changes to the type of content I’m sharing here on the blog. I’m sure you’ve noticed that each post I’ve tried to share more than just my outfit; I’ve tried to delve into some of the things on my heart and mind. I’ve tried to share some of my thoughts, lessons I’ve learned, advice I’ve collected. I’ve always considered myself a writer. Many fashion bloggers are NOT writers, but I am. I love writing and am always so blown away by the responses I get when I post something real and meaningful. I love fashion, don’t get me wrong, and the lens through which I tell my stories here will ALWAYS be fashion, there will also be truth, love, and depth as well.
All these changes felt right and felt good. The decisions I made about my business felt like steps forward and evolutions for me. When I look back to where I started and what A Sparkle Factor started as, it’s so crazy to me how much has changed. As I’ve learned the ropes of the blogosphere and as I’ve become more comfortable sharing different things, it’s amazing to me how my goals and objectives have changed. My blog is COMPLETELY different than it was when I first started, and I love that! Thank you so much for supporting me and the changes I’ve made.
But don’t worry– not everything is changing! I will always share fashion and beauty. I will always share my favorite affordable fashion finds and I will always share the best sales and deals out there. I’m just happy that because I have this platform… I can do both. I can share anything and everything I want to.
Now, on to the style!
I scooped up this top a few weeks ago, it’s on mega mega sale, 50% off making it only $34.88! I love the float-y chiffon sleeves and the ruffle detail. It’s a great top for our weird Miami “winters”.
These jeggings are an amazing recent purchase, on sale for $34.99! They’re a pull on jegging style that are really comfy, super flattering, and I love the distressing!
