It’s that time! I had intended to publish this haul earlier in the month and share both Christmas Eve AND New Year’s Eve dresses, but really, the month just got away from me. I’ve had my eye on basically every sequined dress on Amazon for months, so NYE is really the perfect time for me to investigate! All of these except the jumpsuit are available on Prime, but I still did get the jumpsuit pretty fast, fyi. Let’s get into the try-on!
Ombre sequin slipdress, $25.99 + prime shipping || available in 7 different color options, wearing a size medium, runs tts, a tad on the bigger side up top. LOVE this dress, it’s perfect for New Year’s Eve or if you happen to be planning a trip to Vegas, a bachelorette party, you name it. I loved the fit– I’d say it runs true to size. It’s not super skin tight which I liked. I was impressed with the quality of the sequins and I am in love with the colors! As I mentioned, it’s available in 7 other colorways, so take a peek at it and see what speaks to you if you’re not loving the ombre effect. I think it’s really flirty and sexy without being sleazy, a hard to line to walk.
Silver sequin bodycon dress, $26.99 + prime shipping || available in 20 colors, wearing a medium, runs tts, a tad bigger. I knew I had to order this dress because it is the #1 best selling item on Amazon under the category “Going Out/Club Dresses” lol. It has a ton of great reviews. I had wanted to actually order the champagne colorway, but it was out of stock until after the holidays and wouldn’t arrive in time, so I went with the silver which I had seen in some photos and was impressed with how it looked. It’s stretchy and actually pretty comfortable. The sequins were nice. It’s also available in a variety of colors with matte sequins if you prefer a little more subdued. Fit was good. I say this one is a winner!
Green sequin long sleeve bodycon dress, $29.99 + prime shipping || available in 5 colors, wearing a size medium, runs tts. OK, so, I like this dress a lot. The fit is fantastic and the sequins are a nice quality. I chose the green because so many people raved about the green in the reviews… it’s pretty, but I don’t know, I felt a little bit like either Poison Ivy, Kermit, or the Little Mermaid. I wanted to be a little adventurous, but really, I should’ve chosen the black I think! I say this one is a win, but if you’re not feeling the Little Mermaid vibes, go with another color.
Black bodycon pencil dress, $13.99 + prime shipping ||available in 12 colors wearing a size medium, runs tts. OK, I was definitely curious about this one. For the price? Why not? It’s just a basic black bodycon, super stretchy, very fitted. I think it’s a great choice, actually! Dress it up, dress it down. This baby is very, very versatile! I thought it was very slimming and very flattering. You can even wear it backwards if you want a higher neckline and a scoop back! On this one, I’d say stick to the black, I don’t know about the colors. I saw some photos of the white in the reviews and thought that one looked pretty good too and surprisingly opaque! However, I did order the black so I can’t really speak to the quality of the colors. Black is a lot easier to make look luxe than colors, you know? Especially in a spandex-y material like this. This is great if you just want a sleek LBD in your closet that can work for a variety of situations.
Black lace off the shoulder cocktail dress, $26.99 + prime shipping || available in 3 colors, wearing a size medium, runs tts. I was MAJORLY impressed with this one!! The lace is great quality and is on the heavier side. I love the sweetheart neckline of the lining. The flared hem is pretty and chic. This is a great option if you’re looking for something a little more elegant, a little more refined. I think this is a great dress for a winter wedding or any type of cocktail party. I am shocked that it is only $26.99!! Such a beautiful fit, very flattering, very slimming.
Lace sheath dress, $36.99 + prime shipping || available in 9 colors, wearing a size medium, runs a bit on the bigger side. OK, so I ordered medium light pink. This dress is clearly purple lol. I am just not feeling the color to be honest. One of my girlfriends ordered it in black and it was fantastic on her. I just wanted to get something not black! Big mistake. Colored lace can be tricky in a cheaper item… I think it’s a miss here. If it were black, I think it would be gorgeous. Fit was good, just a little big. I say this dress is a yes, just… get the black or a darker color!
Sequin jumpsuit, $23.89 + free shipping, but not prime. || runs really small, wearing a size x-large. OK… so… this was this month’s experiment lol! I wanted something sequined that wasn’t a dress. The jumpsuit looked cool on the model and looked cute in some of the user photos. On me… I don’t think so lol. All the reviews said to size up so I went with an x-large after consulting the size chart. I don’t know. It’s not the worst but I say pass on this unless you’re really skinny and really tall.
