The Most Important Part of My Summer Beauty Routine

Olay Whips – Total Effects-4

Every year, as the temperatures heat up, I make adjustments to my beauty routine. Here in Miami it is hot, hot, hot and humid x 1000. My beauty priorities switch and I rotate in a few products to tackle some of summer’s big beauty concerns–mainly, humidity and sun protection. Now, since I am in Miami, SPF really needs to be a priority year round. (And really, wherever you are, SPF should always be a priority, but I get it.) The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve seen how important sun protection is. Protecting your skin from the sun is one of the biggest ways to keep it looking young. And so, it would stand to reason that sun protection is the most important part of your summer beauty routine.

Now, it’s confession time, girlfriends. I’m terrible at the whole SPF thing… Truth be told, if I didn’t have a moisturizer with SPF built in, I’d probably never apply it for everyday, even though I know that I should.

I know I’m not alone, because I read a stat that said that 2/3 of women know that they should be using SPF, but that only 1/3 actually use it. And really… I’m definitely in that part of women who know that they should do it but don’t. Honestly, I think it smells weird, the texture is gross, and it messes up my makeup application. Thank goodness that moisturizers with built-in SPF is a thing!

As I’ve started to transition my morning beauty routine for summer, the first big change I made was swapping in the new Olay Total Effects Whip with SPF 25. I am a huge, huge fan of Olay Whips and am a longtime Olay loyalist, as you know if you’ve been a reader for a while. I’ve always used Olay moisturizers, ever since high school.

The Olay Total Effects Whip with SPF 25 is super lightweight, hydrating, and blends nicely leaving no residue. It smells nice and feels really silky, in a non-greasy way. It’s sheer and easy to wear, layers nicely under your makeup and makes your skin look glow-y and healthy.

Basically, it has none of the gross qualities that sunscreen has, plus the 7-in-one benefits of the original Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging moisturizer: replenishes moisture, evens skin tone, enhances brightness, visibly smooths line and wrinkles, minimizes the look of pores, restores firmness, and visibly reduces dark spots.

So far, I’ve noticed a change in my skin and am loving this new formulation of the Olay Total Effects, which has long been on my radar as an anti-aging moisturizer I had been wanting to try.

There’s really no excuse for not using an SPF anymore. It’s seriously so, so easy to integrate it into your daily beauty routine, and you’ll totally love this moisturizer. You can pick up Olay Total Effects Whip with SPF 25 at your local CVS and online here.
