My Favorite At-Home Workouts

My Favorite At-Home Workouts - best at-home pilates and barre classes
Sports Bra Leggings Barre Socks

I’ve been getting TONS of questions lately about what workouts I’ve been doing and asking for recommendations. The last month or so I’ve been really focusing on getting back into shape. I’ve totally overhauled my eating habits and focused on working out and have really seen amazing results! You know that I’m all about sharing the wealth– so figured I’d share the workout apps I’ve been using lately as well as my favorite workouts.

Let’s get real– I’m not anywhere near where I want to be and am by no means an expert– BUT I’ve been enjoying these workouts and have definitely noticed changes in even a short time!

Basically– I’m doing a combination of barre and pilates. Barre and pilates focus on building long, lean muscles instead of creating bulk. Think toned dancers’ bodies.

Barre is a combination of pilates and ballet movements that I LOVE and thoroughly enjoy doing!

If it’s something you might want to try, I would definitely recommend getting yourself a sports bra before you do so. I don’t think there is anything worse than your normal bra digging into you and distracting you from the workout you’re trying to complete. There are so many high-street shops that now stock them and you can also find more online if you would prefer to browse more options!

So now that you have everything you need to get started, here’s the list of some of my favourite workout apps!

FitOn App

FitOn is a FREE app that is super easy to use and offers a wide variety of live and on-demand workouts. Featuring celeb trainers and workouts of all lengths and intensities, This is the app I’ve been using most.

I find myself gravitating towards the Pilates and Barre classes… Cassey Ho from Blogilates designed basically the entire Pilates section and I am obsessed with her! There are also HIIT classes, circuits, prenatal, low impact, toning, etc.

You can pay $20 for a year of their PRO plan to have access to better music! I did a trial and it was so great– the workouts were accompanied by songs from Selena Gomez’s new album, The Weeknd, and more.

OpenFit App

I used OpenFit before and fell in love with Xtend Barre and Andrea Rogers! I just re-upped my membership after seeing that they’ve added Xtend Pilates and have a really great 30 and 60-day Xtend Barre/Pilates fusion plan that I’m psyched to start later today.

You can do a 14-day free trial with any email address or a 60-day free trial if you have a .edu email address! (Just use code STUDENT2020)

I recommend giving it a try to see how you feel about the app before committing to a subscription! One of their claims is that you can lose up to 15 lbs in 30 days! INSANE.

Blogilates

After using the FitOn app, I realized I was doing mainly workouts led and designed by Cassey Ho from Blogilates/POP Pilates. Since I love her and her workouts, I ventured over to her blog and YouTube channel to find even more free workouts!

On her blog, she has monthly workout plans (here is the June calendar!) and a bunch of challenges that are AMAZING. She’s also just a ray of sunshine and is so encouraging and positive.

Hope that helped you find some new, effective at-home workout ideas! Try them out and let me know what you think!
