Last night, musicians and models hit the red carpet for the Billboard Music Awards. As I typically adore a red carpet fashion moment, I was going to post a full-fledged red carpet report. But as I perused photos this am, I honestly didn’t feel like the looks made last night deserved a full-on analysis. Whereas I was pleased with some of sartorial decisions made by typical staples of the Worst Dressed list, like Nicki Minaj and Kesha (no $), I still didn’t feel like there were any real wow-moments on the red carpet. And then there was JLO.
JLO rocked the red carpet in a statement-making red belted chiffon evening gown by Donna Karan that literally made my jaw drop. She looked gorgeous and glam, and I was absolutely crazy for this look. So, I thought I’d dedicate my whole post to her, and show you how you can get her look for less. Now I know what you’re thinking- this look? Is DRAMA. It’s absolutely stunning, but may or may not be appropriate for YOUR upcoming event. (Not all of us can show up to our black-tie work function in essentially a bodysuit and sheer overlay, am I right?) So, while scouting pieces for this look, I chose options that channeled the glam-factor and sexiness of JLO’s showstopper, on a bit of a tamer scale.
