Bow Blouse + Leopard Pant + Jean Jacket

I am so psyched for this look, guys! Sidenote: Sometimes, I just REALLY WANT TO SAY YA’LL. I’m so not Southern, but I just feel like sometimes you need to say. “YA’LL.” Like… “YA’LL. I’m so psyched for this look.” Right?! What do you think, can I pull it off??

My true love for the Old Navy Harper trouser is by no means a secret at this point.  You may remember me rocking them here and here. They’re truly just a GREAT pant, comfortable, chic, timeless, perfect for work. I love the leopard print, though the pant is also available in other prints as well as solids. It’s definitely a staple I highly recommend. (Eyeing the red pair!) They’re on mega sale right now, (for $9.97!) so it’s a great idea to scoop up multiples, definitely.

My friends at Choie’s sent over this blouse and I LOVE it. It’s a semi-sheer chiffon and I really love the slight puff of the sleeve. It’s a romantic top that works in a variety of looks, to be sure. (I also like that it comes with a bonus white neck tie as well! TWO TOPS IN ONE basically!) The fit on the top was good. (I ordered a size L believe it or not!) I think I could even havae sized up one more size to the XL, I could get AWAY with this one, but I had to use some dress tape on one of the buttons because it would occasionally do a slight gape because #boobs. Pay VERY close attention to the measurements on the site for each product. I enjoy Choie’s, but to get the best experience, you need to be very vigilant of the measurements because everything runs sort of differently and oftentimes runs very, very small. (Like this top, definitely!) BUT don’t let that deter you! Choie’s has so much amazing on-trend stuff for so cheap, it’s a really great way to build up some of the trend pieces in your wardrobe without breaking the bank.

This jacket is basically a staple that I can’t recommend enough! I scooped it up at J. Crew Factory, like, three years ago and it has gotten SO MUCH USE. They still have it in stock, but currently, the wash they have it available in is SLIGHTLY darker, which, to be honest, I’m not mad at. The darker was is sort of fab, I’d recommend it, definitely. Let’s. Talk. About. These. Shoes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM. Sad news: this shade, the nude, is SOLD OUT. UGH. But, you should definitely hop on the wait list. I had added MY name to the wait list the first time around when they sold out and when they made a second run of these beauties, I finally snagged a pair. I’m positive that they’ll do a third run of them, because they’re CRAZY popular. SUCH a good Valentino Rockstud dupe, such a great price. (Under $70?! Get out.) The black/tan color IS available, and I’d definitely recommend getting them in the meantime. I had a REAL struggle trying to decide which color to get, (remember this post?) I may actually still get them, they’re that good.

On a more serious/personal note…

I am so excited for this week. I feel really refreshed and energized. Just to get real for a sec… I had been sort of discouraged this weekend, feeling a bit lost professionally. I just felt really uninspired. But, I spent quite a bit of time praying about it and did an AMAZING quiet time study today. I’ve been doing SheReadsTruth’s 30 days in Genesis study and today’s lesson was all about Noah and the flood. A story that, yes, we’ve all heard a million times. But today, something about it really spoke to me.

I was so struck by how long it took Noah to build the ark (some say 50-75 years!) and how tirelessly he worked on it that whole time, not really understanding WHY God wanted him to do it. (Remember, it had never rained before!) Sometimes, we’re just like that, aren’t we? Working and working, building and building, yet seeing nothing. I’m sure he was discouraged some times over the years. But he kept at it, plugging away. He was blessed because he kept at it and obeyed what God had told him to do.

Another thing that really struck me too, was how LONG THEY STAYED IN THE ARK. THEY STAYED IN THE ARK FOR A WHOLE YEAR! A YEAR. IN AN ARK. WITH YOUR FAMILY. AND ALL THE ANIMALS. FOR A YEAR. WAITING. Think about that. REALLY, REALLY think about that. #Stircrazy. After it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, it took MONTHS for the Earth to be dry enough for Noah, his fam, and the animals to come out. Noah had to wait. And then he sent out the doves. Three times. Can’t we all related to that? Aren’t we all waiting for something? How often do we send out our doves before going ahead with what we want to do/what we think we should do? How often do we just jump in without thinking? I need to send out my doves more. We all do!

I was just really touched by all of that today. About hard work, and timing, and giving things your all, pushing through even when you can’t see the end… perseverance and dedication. Waiting.
