10 Things To Try in June

It’s June! Something about June makes it finally feel like summer… even though it’s Miami, and let’s get real, it’s ALWAYS summer here. I’ve made a list of the 10 things I’m going to try in June to get me in the summer spirit. Check ’em out!

1. Go boho. – Now that summer is officially here, it’s the perfect time to give this hot trend a try. Boho chic was never really my “thing”, but lately, I’ve been really feeling it. The trick is to incorporate it in ways that still feel unique to your style and aesthetic. While going full Coachella may not be your jam, maybe dip your toe in the trend with a tassel earring or an off-the-shoulder sundress.

2. Clean out your closet for summer. – I’m about to start my own! Doing a closet purge to streamline your wardrobe keeps your style fresh and makes putting together looks a breeze. (BTW- if you need help with this one, let me know. I have both virtual and in-person packages and we can tackle your closet together!)

3. Read one book a week. – I love to read and, to be honest, haven’t made time for it lately. My to-read list is out of control! I’m committing to shutting off Netflix this month and tackling my summer reading.

My Summer Reading List:

4. Find a good daily sunscreen. – I haven’t been as intentional about sunscreen as I probably should be, living so close to the equator. While I always opt for a moisturizer with built-in sunscreen, I think it’s time to take it to the next level and find one that’s a bit more deliberate. First up, Hydropeptide’s Solar Defense, which I’m totally into. It smells clean, is non-greasy and lightweight, AND fights wrinkles while it protects you from the sun. Also: it self-adjusts to match your skintone. WIN WIN.

5. Watch Unreal on Lifetime. – I seriously am so excited about this show! If you watch The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, you MUST set your TiVo tonight to catch Lifetime’s scripted series about a Bacheloresque show and the behind-the-scenes manipulations of its producers. CAN’T WAIT!

6. Buy wedges. If you follow me on Twitter, you may be aware of my recent epiphany that I own literally no wedges. I DON’T KNOW HOW THIS IS POSSIBLE! Shopping around to add a pair to my wardrobe ASAP. Here are a couple I have my eye on:

7. Expand your (shopping) horizons.- I want to make more of an effort to shop at new places I don’t usually and diversify my wardrobe. I feel like many times, as bloggers, we shop at the same few places and then everyone’s feeds look the same. The beautiful thing about the internet is that it’s a place to express your style and take risks… I love getting inspiration from my fellow bloggers, but I don’t want to wear the same exact thing they’re all wearing. I love that there are so many AWESOME shops online and in the US. So many great little boutiques, off price retailers, big department stores… there is so much FASHION out there, we don’t need to push the same stuff over and over again, you know? Take a risk, order something from a new shop you’ve never shopped at before!

8. Get a pouch for receipts and keep better track of expenses. – UGH I am the worst. I need to scoop up a cute little pouch or something to keep my receipts together. Come tax time, my accountant (and tax return!) will thank me. There’s nothing worse than filing taxes incorrectly then facing a penalty as a consequence. Luckily, there are solutions out there to help you with your tax-resolution-filing-status and other accounting hangups.

9. Spice up your arm party. – I really need to up my bracelet game. Lately, I’ve gotten sick of all of my jewels and sort of fallen into an armparty rut. I need to add some pretty baubles to my jewelry box! Here are a few I’m inspired by:

10. Track down the perfect tassel hoop earrings. – I really want a cute pair of tassel hoops… stay tuned.

That’s my list of 10 things for June! Tell me in the comments: are you trying any of them??
