White Ruffled Dress

Happy Monday! Hope you gals had a GREAT weekend and are ready and raring to go for another week ahead. I lay low, started watching Friday Night Lights for the second time… I really didn’t get it the first time around, to be honest! I know people are constantly raving about what an amazing show it is, but the first time I tried to watch it I was… zzz… bored. However, I am a firm believer in giving everything a second chance before I decide I categorically do NOT like it.

I’ve found that oftentimes, when you give something a second chance, you feel way different. I find this to be true especially with TV and movies! (In the list of movies I loved after HATING them the first time I saw them: Across the Universe, Anchorman, Step Brothers, Vanilla Sky.) I definitely recommend giving movies you hated the first time around a second chance. And, let’s get philosophical for a sec: this doesn’t just apply to movies. (HELLO, I hated AVOCADO the first time I tried it!! WHAT?! I LOVE avocado, it’s one of my favorite things, EVER.)

But on a much more serious note, I think we jump to disliking things too quickly. Sometimes, you’re in a weird mood or aren’t paying attention, or just SOMETHING is distracting you. Our perspectives can quickly change and something you didn’t like the first time around, maybe you love the second time. First impressions can often be wrong. I think it’s important to constantly be challenging ourselves and stepping out of our comfort zones. Let’s challenge ourselves to constantly reexamine our lives and our likes and dislikes and be flexible with changing our opinions. Think of all we could be missing out on! (GUACAMOLE?!)

OK, so in the spirit of second chances, I wore this beautiful white ruffled dress again. (I had worn it on Easter for the first time! You may have spotted it here on Instagram.)

It’s so light and airy. perfect for spring. The fabric is silky and feels super highend, but… IT’S FROM TARGET. It’s part of the Who What Wear for Target collection! This dress has a $34.99 price tag, ya’ll! I think it’s a great spring piece… the ruffles are feminine and pretty, the peekaboo lace is a beautiful touch and it can be dressed up or dressed down really easily! Wear with an army jacket or a blazer, a jean jacket or a cardigan and you’ll completely change the vibe. I wore it over Easter with these cage sandals, but they’d even be cute with a bootie or a pair of Converse.

Let’s talk about these sandals… I am #OBSESSED. I’ve been quietly perusing the shoe department online at Charlotte Russe for months, debating if I should order something. I haven’t ordered anything from Charlotte Russe in, literally, years. Since high school or college, definitely! They’ve really stepped up their game online and it’s truly become a great resource for affordable dresses, shoes and tops. Granted, I haven’t set foot in a store in a long time, and when I walk by them, they don’t look great. I’ve found the really FAB pieces are online exclusive! These gorgeous lace up sandals are only $20, but I picked them up on sale for $15! Charlotte Russe is always having sale… BOGO $12, BOGO 50% off, all shoes under $20… etc. (Right now, they’re running a BOGO $12.50 sale. Go figure.) I love the tassels! I’ve been living in them all week and I just KNOW that I’m basically not taking them off this spring/summer.
