Happy Anniversary sale, friends! Today is the very first day of ALL ACCESS for Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale and if you aren’t a Nordstrom cardholder– you can finally shop the goodies you’ve been seeing all week on Instagram and blogs. In honor of the sale, I wanted to share a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Try-On Session with you!
I have to say I’m disappointed– Nordstrom did NOT re-stock the super popular items that sold out almost immediately the first day of Early Access! I myself haven’t even placed an order yet! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?
I felt crazy overwhelmed the first day of the sale, tried on a bunch of stuff, wanted to go home and think about it, and by the time I had made decisions… the things I wanted most were GONE!
I thought that they’d definitely re-stock in time for All Access, yet here we are and the things I had my eye on are STILL out of stock. And– so is a lot of what I tried on, truth be told. BUT, I will share it anyway in the hopes that it comes back in stock and you’re curious about what it looks like.
Anniversary was rough on me this year. The sale was just really bad timing for me, so I couldn’t spend a ton. I had to make very careful decisions about what I wanted, what I thought was worth it, and what I felt my wardrobe really needed. By the time I decided, everything I wanted was sold out lol! It was definitely a little defeating to see girls posting on IG with their trunks full of 25 bags!
But– I know we all go through it some times, so I thought that you guys would appreciate the honesty and my thoughts on the few things I DEFINITELY couldn’t live without. So, that’s why I decided to do try-on sessions… just for fit reference for you guys, in case you were curious about how something fit!
Please keep in mind that I wore some random shoes that were in the fitting room– I don’t know how some girls managed to smuggle booties and accessories into the fitting room, because my Nordy was absolutely NOT having it lol.
AG The Legging Ripped Ankle Skinny Jean + BP Ribbed Cardigan
AG ‘The Legging” Ripped Ankle Skinny Jean // BP Ribbed Cardigan
Every year, the AG jean style ‘The Legging’ sells out… it’s definitely one of the hot ticket items of the sale. I tried on a pair at this year’s sale, and it was immediately obvious to me why that is– they’re fantastic! They were super stretchy and really, really flattering! I looked SO skinny in them! They run true to size and are available in this distressed style as well as this raw hem style.
I don’t know why they insisted on calling this a cardigan… it isn’t lol. It’s definitely a top. This top is Nordstrom’s take on the Urban Outfitters waffle knit henley that EVERYONE was wearing over the winter. It’s really soft and cozy and you can knot the bottom for a different look. This style sold out the first day and I was so bummed because it was one of 3 pieces I was going to purchase.
Other Ways to Style the BP Ribbed Cardigan
with the BLANKNYC Jean Skirt // with the Free People High Waist Jeans
Free People High Waist Ankle Skinny Jean + BP Lace Cami
Free People Jeans // BP Waffle Knit Cardigan // BP Lace Cami // Topshop Cardigan // Chelsea28 Cardigan
Free People High Waist Ankle Skinny Jean: I fell in love with these jeans!! I thought the fit was amazing and I felt so skinny in them. The rips where perfectly located on my 5’2 frame and you can’t beat the price! I tried these on for sizing, planning on purchasing the darker wash when I got home because they weren’t available in-store. Of course, they sold out before I had the chance. Keeping an eye on these, though! These were the second item I was DEFINITELY planning on purchasing.
BP Lace Cami: I thought this was a great, basic cami. It’s sold out, of course, was one of the first things to sell out! I checked my phone WHILE I WAS AT NORDSTROM at 10am the first day of the sale and it had already sold out. You can’t beat the price and it was available in a bunch of colors. Keeping an eye on this too, I was planning on purchasing.
BP Waffle Knit Cardigan: I loved this cardigan! It’s cozy and soft and not at all itchy. I love the oversized fit and the grandpa style. These would look amazing with my favorite leather leggings that are totally included in the sale, jeans, denim skirts, basically anything.
Topshop Cardigan: This oversized cardigan was pretty overwhelming. I mistakenly went for the medium but you definitely need to size down! I love the color though and I thought it was very cozy, perfect for the winter. It’s very high quality! Also available in other colors, right now only charcoal is available, but I’ll keep any eye on it.
Chelsea28 Cardigan: I didn’t really love this cardigan… I thought the sleeves were too wide? And it wasn’t very warm. It’s lightweight, so maybe it’s a good piece to have for those transitional days where it’s hot but cold inside or cooler in the evening. It is available in a few colors as well.
Madewell Cardigan + BP Lace Cami
Madewell Cardigan // BP Lace Cami // SP Black Denim Mini Skirt // Free People Jeans
Madewell Cardigan: I loved the dusty rose color of this cardigan and the fit was nice and flattering. It’s available in 3 colors right now and I’d say this high quality cardigan is worth the money. Looks great with jeans, skirts, leggings, dresses. The pink is still neutral, but it’s a nice pop of color.
SP Black Denim Mini Skirt: I LOVED this skirt! It’s very stretchy and comfortable, doesn’t feel like denim at all! It was very flattering, I looked very skinny in it! I liked the released hem and thought it was a good wardrobe staple. Come fall, it’d be great with boots, cardigans, leather jackets, but you can wear it now with basically any cute summer top. I’d say this is worth the purchase!
BP Ruched Bodycon Dress
Topshop Boxy Denim Jacket // BP Ruched Bodycon Dress // Chelsea28 Cardigan
BP Ruched Bodycon Dress: While the fit was flattering, I didn’t love this dress as much as I thought I would! Maybe it was the color? I thought it looked good on, but I sort of didn’t love my stomach in it lol. However, it’s definitely a versatile piece that you can style with assorted jackets and cardigans, so I don’t think you’d regret purchasing! Plus, the price tag is pretty nice.
Wayf Ruffle Cami + Free People Jeans
Wayf Ruffle Cami // Free People Jeans // Topshop Leather Jacket
Wayf Ruffle Cami: This cami is everything! It comes in emerald and lilac and I LOVED the lilac! Its super cute, but keep in mind it is very low cut. I don’t particularly mind that, but just FYI. I think this top would be adorable with a cardigan, not sure why I didn’t try it on in the fitting room lol? This is definitely a wear it now, wear it later style! Just add a moto jacket and you’re ready for fall.
Topshop Leather Jacket: This leather jacket was beautiful and a great price point for leather… but I think if you’re not really looking to invest in a real leather jacket and don’t mind faux leather, go for this style instead, that’s 1/3 of the price! They didn’t have it at my store, so I didn’t get to try it on!
Levi’s 501 Jeans
Billabong Sweater // Levi’s 501 Jeans // BP Tee
Levi’s 501 Jeans: OK, I thought I was going to hate these jeans. I’ve been dying for some cute Levi’s, but since my weight isn’t what it normally is, I refuse to try on a large size and can’t squeeze my body into the vanity size I WANT to get haha. I put my pride aside and tried these babies on in a 30 and I’m SO glad I did! I LOVE them. These were the third piece I was going to invest in. I still am going to, actually. I LOVE the fit, they were insanely flattering and I felt soooo skinny! PLUS, it’s a classic style that isn’t a skinny jean, so they’re a nice change for sure. With Levi’s, size up if you’re interested in snagging them!
Billabong Sweater: This pretty off the shoulder sweater is a great fall piece… will pair perfectly with leather leggings or cute jeans for a casual date night. It’s also available in emerald green, if you prefer.
BP Tee: I tried on this tee because, hello, it is $11. I’d say… skip it. The quality is not great, it’s totally sheer. Maybe the other colors are better, but definitely don’t do the white. I think you can get a better quality tee at Old Navy or even Target.
BP Twist Sweater
BP Twist Sweater// Free People Jeans // BLANKNYC Jean Skirt
BP Twist Sweater: This sweater is sold out but was available in a cream color that was pretty. I tried the coral because I thought it’d be fun and bright, but I don’t know. It’s different, but I didn’t 100% love it. It is flattering though.
BLANKNYC Jean Skirt: I love this skirt!! Such a great price point, I love the released hem and I thought this would be a total wardrobe staple. Wear it now, wear it later. This is a great buy during the sale! It fits really well and is really nice quality.
Billabong Blouse + Levi’s 501s
Billabong Blouse // Levi’s 501s // Topshop Leather Jacket
Billabong Blouse: This top didn’t really fit how I thought it would. Every picture I saw of it, the tie seemed lower?? I don’t know. It’s a pretty fall top and would look cute with jeans, skirts, leather pants. Top with a leather jacket to give it a bit of a cool factor!
Topshop Boxy Denim Jacket + BP Tee + BP Moto Leggings
Topshop Boxy Denim Jacket // BP Tee // BP Moto Leggings
Topshop Boxy Denim Jacket: I am not really a huge fan of the whole, boxy jacket style. It feels a little too dated to me, but I do see girls pull it off all the time and it looks cool on them. I’d prefer either an oversized style or a fitted style. Something about the fit of this jacket wasn’t my favorite. But, I can easily see this outfit for running errands, it was super comfortable!
BP Moto Leggings: I love these leggings! Nordstrom always has them and every year they’re part of the sale. I think this should be the year I finally get them, because they’re really cute, really affordable, and I think that they’d be great with cardigans, sweaters, jackets, the works.
Socialite Lace Romper
Socialite Lace Romper: This romper is so pretty! perfect for any brides-to-be! I’d say this romper would be great for a bachelorette party or even a bridal shower. The fit was really flattering and you can’t beat the price!
Chelsea28 Floral Jumpsuit
Chelsea28 Floral Jumpsuit: I fell in love with this jumpsuit! I love the ruffle straps and the tie neckline… the style was so flattering and this was just a FUN piece! I hate these shoes, but I needed some height lol! I’d probably pair with a strappy sandal or a wedge!
Hinge Balloon Sleeve Cardigan + BP Tee + Free People Jeans
Hinge Balloon Sleeve Cardigan // BP Tee // Free People Jeans
Hinge Balloon Sleeve Cardigan: Hated this cardigan. I thought it might be cool and oversized, but it was not at all cool or flattering. The bishop sleeve felt sorta old lady to me. MEH.

Free People Saturday Morning Cardigan: so, this cardigan from the winter is part of the sale and I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I’d say definitely pick this up on sale! It’s oversized but actually is flattering and is so cozy.
[/pipdig_right][pipdig_left]
[/pipdig_left][pipdig_right]
Spanx Leather Leggings: these are my go-to leather leggings! They’re so flattering and suck you in… perfect for the fall, they pair amazingly with cardigans, sweaters, tops, the works. You can snag ’em on sale and trust me– you’ll wear them forever![/pipdig_right]
