This past Thursday, I was fortunate to attend the Miami launch of the Nine West/InStyle collaboration at Nine West’s South Beach store. To fete the Spring 2014 collection, InStyle’s Accessories Director Leah Karp was on hand for a night of shopping, giveaways, treats, and tunes. I personally had already scoured Miami for the Gamin (more later!) and was greeted by the LOVELY manager of Nine West’s Aventura location (where I had victoriously made the Gamin mine earlier that day.) “YOU’RE ALREADY WEARING OUR SHOES!” He called out gleefully and ushered me in the door. I poured out my epic tale of hunting down the shoe and how I had finally managed to snag a pair at Aventura. “I remember you!” he said, “the girls were hoping you’d be able to fit into the 5 1/2!” (I had to size down a whole size.)
Once inside, I was greeted by lovely models rocking the collection, and made the rounds to shop, peruse and chat with some blogger friends.

Chatting with InStyle Magazine’s Accessories Director, Leah Karp, about the Gamin snake pumps and how obsessed I am with them! I scoured the city of Miami and called Nine West’s hotline 4 times in one day to track them down! (BTW- the Nine West customer service people are THE NICEST PEOPLE EVER. I’ve spoken to no less than 10 customer service agents in the past year, and they’re ALL amazing, helpful and sweet.)
I asked Leah which shoe is her favorite in the collection. Her answer? “My favorite shoe is this one, the Izzy, it’s a mid-heel sandal, you know, just a simple, two strap sandal, with minimal hardware, and it’s really perfect for summer. It won’t give you blisters… I’ve been wearing it for the events, I’ve been wearing it throughout Miami, walking in it, it’s really, like, the perfect heel!” She was wearing them herself, and honestly, she’s right they are the PERFECT heel! I’m so excited that mid-heels are back, because my feet are happy for the break!
Me in my Gamin snake pumps. (Spoiler alert: they’re mostly sold out. Call Nine West customer service to track down a pair!) They are SO GOOD. Faux snakeskin is a tricky business- most of the time, synthetic snakeprints end up looking cheap. The Nine West Gamin is super luxe and looks like a way more expensive shoe. Love the d’orsay style and the sky-high heel. Sexy, yet tasteful. Pro tip: I had to size down a whole size! I’m typically a 6 1/2… I got a 5 1/2 and stretched the toe box a little!

Peek at the Gamin pump- can’t even decide which is cutest! The snake is super versatile, the red crazy sexy, the olive is cool and modern and the black is classic and polished. So one of each?
