There are a few beauty products in my beauty bag that are tried and true staples. They’re usually products I’ve used again and again and totally love, or products that can save the day and keep you from committing a major beauty blunder. One such product that I’ve recently started using is the John Frieda Root Blur™ Colour Blending Concealer Honey to Caramel For Medium to Dark Blonde.

John Frieda Root Blur-4

After slightly darkening my hair in October, I’ve sort of shied away from wearing my hair up… I’m just not used to being an almost-brunette! I’ve been a blonde my whole life and just… FEEL like a blonde. Looking in the mirror and seeing dark roots is something that’s been strange for me. Now that I have a sort of subtle ombre going on, when I wear my hair up, there’s a sort of disconnect between my topknot and roots. (I’m sure you’ve noticed that I very rarely wear my hair up on the blog!)

Luckily, the John Frieda Root Blur has been a great tool that helps blur the the lines between my natural roots and the lighter strands that I have going on, ’til I next get to the salon to lighten my locks. It’s easy, affordable, and just makes me feel a little more comfortable rocking an updo.

I know what you’re thinking… WHAT EXACTLY IS IT? John Frieda Root Blur is a temporary root cover-up powder that disguises your roots super naturally and subtly. The texture is basically like eyeshadow, but heavier. The powder is not sticky or stiff, you barely even NOTICE you’re wearing it… except for the fact that your roots are gone, of course. Each compact comes with two shades so you can blend to customize your shade. (I’m Honey to Caramel for Medium to Dark Blonde right now!) It’s long lasting (’til your next shampoo!) and won’t rub off. Score.

I scooped up my John Frieda Root Blur palette from Target. (I mean, obvi. I basically live at Target!) They’re promoting them on store endcaps until 3/5/16 and running a FAB promotion- buy 3 products, get a $5 Target giftcard! (I love when they do those promos!)

The John Frieda Root Blur is definitely a beauty bag staple. Whether you need to cover up your roots between salon visits, or you have a couple of grays that need concealing, the palette works wonders. Have you tried it out? I’d love to hear your feedback!
