Gingham Shorts + Lace Top

Over the weekend, we went up to Tallahassee to move my sister Megan out of her dorm. I love the downtown Tallahassee area and jumped at the chance to shoot a few of my favorite outfits up there. Tallahassee is an interesting city– on one hand, it’s a major college town. #GONOLES. On the other hand, it’s a state capital and has a really pretty and has some quaint buildings and restaurants. I’ll be honest, the food is one of my favorite parts of going back! Oh how I miss Pokey Stix from Gumby’s, Guthrie’s ‘Gut Box’, and Waffle House. (We don’t have Waffle House in South Florida!) I always love driving up to relive my college days… even if it’s just to move my sister in and out of her dorm!

I really miss living there. I can’t believe how long it’s been since I called Tally home! Looking back, I feel so nostalgic thinking about my roommates and friends, the fun times, the football games, the VIBE! In so many ways, I still feel like that girl, and in so many ways it feels like a different life. My friends have grown up, gotten married, had kids. I always say I wish I could go back and know then what I know now… I would rule the world! It’s a fun place to visit, and even still… will always be home in a way. The one thing I DON’T miss was my horrible sense of style. To be fair, it was the early 2000s. (Not to date myself or anything lol!) It was the Britney era, and there were a LOT of things I wore back then that make me cringe, HARD.

Luckily, my style has significantly evolved. Speaking of which…

I am obsessed with these shorts! Aren’t they adorable?? They’re so perfect for the spring and summer… I’d love them also paired with a chambray button down, a cute crop top, or an easy white tee. Dress them up for a night out with some heels, or keep it casual as I did with some flat sandals or maybe a Converse. (Yes, Converse is basically my answer to ANY styling query!)

I love this lace top, and it’s SO affordable. Finding an amazing lace top at a good price point can be tricky… this one is amazing! BTW– sort of annoying, they list the sizes as separate items!
