Friday Favorites: Best of June

Friday FavoritesHappy Friday and Happy JULY! The beginning of July feels like the halfway point of summer, which is really a) insane and b) not even, because summer doesn’t even technically start until June 21. But it does, right? Especially here in Florida, where you always sort of judge the beginning of fall by when school starts. Here in Florida? August. So basically, in my head, July = middle of summer.

June was SO rainy here in Miami… basically, rain every day. The worst! I’m glad I got to see some of my girlfriends from New York a few weeks ago, and I really enjoyed our little beach getaway for Kristen’s birthday! Definitely two highlights. It’s also really nice to have my sister Megan home for the summer!

July and August are going to be SO much fun and I have such great things in store! First up, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is right around the corner! Nordstrom Anniversary is truly the best time of year… it’s literally Christmas in July. I’m going to do an in-depth post for you soon, with everything you need to know, because… girls… this is one you have to prep for!

Mid-July is Miami Swim Week, so I’ll be checking out some of my favorite swimwear brands’ presentations and then we’re headed to Spain and Italy for two weeks of fun and exploring, which I can NOT wait for! Again, if you have any recommendations for things we must see/eat/do, or where we should stay, hit the comments and let me know! (We are doing: Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Florence, Venice, Cinque Terre, Pisa/Lucca.)

Right after that, I’m headed to Charleston for The Blog Societies conference! I can’t wait to catch up with some of my favorite blogger gal pals! If you’re going to be there, let me know! So… basically, a whirlwind summer, right??

It’s a loooong weekend, so I’m sure everyone is psyched! Monday I’m hoping we get some nice weather and can have a good old fashioned 4th of July BBQ. Fingers crossed. I’d love to hear what you’re up to! Let me know in the comments. I’m also going to be online shopping like crazy, prepping for Europe and Charleston! Thank goodness everyone’s doing massive sales this weekend, right?

What I’m Watching…

Still working on (my 3rd time watching) Gossip Girl.

I’ve also been watching the new show Guilt, which is pretty interesting. Total Amanda Knox vibes.

Psyched that The Bachelorette is back! Who are you rooting for? My fave is Robby… but I’m sure Jordan will win! (Have you heard the awful press about him lately?! Woof.) I have a feeling Luke will be the next Bach, what do you think?

I’ve also been watching one of my fave summer shows, Mistresses. So irritated by April, always. Is she, like, the most annoying or what? I really like Harry’s sister Kate, glad they brought her on!

Can you believe that Game of Thrones ?!?!? CRAZY! I’m so #TeamDaenerys. Do we really have to wait a whole year for the next season???

Outlander finale is this week! I’m a week behind, so don’t spoil it for me lol. But, let’s be real, I know what happens anyway. I mean… I’m 3 books ahead of the series rn lol! Which reminds me, I still haven’t finished the 5th book eek.

Favorite Beauty Products in June…

I tried a bunch of new products last month and fell in love… namely, the Amore Pacific Cushion Compact which is beyond amazing. I ordered the light with pink base, which I was apprehensive about at first, but it ended up being perfect for my skintone. I LOVE the smell, it’s so clean and light. Plus, I know it’s a little pricey, but it comes with TWO cushion refills, so you get a lot more bang for your buck. I don’t use the sponge it comes with, opting instead to you use my Real Techniques blending sponge.

img-2I did some research on Youtube and it seemed like a lot of girls said that they’ve been using the Real Techniques sponges instead of the Beauty Blender and that they’re just as good if not better! Plus, at $10.99 for 2, I’m definitely more inclined to scoop one up. I really like the texture, it’s soft and light on my face. I also really, really like the shape– it has a flat side for getting in really close under your eyes and little nooks and crannies on your face.makeup revolution redemption 3 palette

I’m also loving the Makeup Revolution Redemption III palette, which is basically a $7 dupe for the Naked 3 palette… it’s SO good and has great color payoff, I highly recommend it.

The Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer has been such a hit, I hit pan weeks ago. (My sisters keep sneaking it out of my makeup bag and using it!!) The color is great, the texture is soft and silky, and the smell is yummy. I had never really understood what “soft and silky” meant in terms of a powder bronzer — because, how is a powder soft and silky– until I tried this one. I’m also not typically a fan of the coconut smell, unless you’re headed to the beach, but I actually do like this one and don’t mind it.

Parker Atlas embroidered dress_-7Honestly, my life has been completely changed my Amazing Lash Studio. I don’t know if you’ve noticed lately, but my lashes have looked BOMB, and all it’s all thanks to my girl Beatrice at Amazing Lash Studio Coral Gables.

I never realized how much of a difference your lashes make! I haven’t been wearing ANY eye makeup lately, even in shoots! In this pic to the left?? NO eyeliner, no mascara. Just lashes and some eyeshadow. It’s really changed my beauty game up in a huge way. And… I can Snapchat with #nomakeup #nofilter and look amaze. And at the end of the day, isn’t that what we all really want in life? LOL! I’m going to go more in-depth next week on a post about my experience with lash extensions, so stay tuned.

By the way– Amazing Lash Studio is EVERYWHERE, not just Miami, so make sure you check them out in your area.

We are definitely having the same TV vibes. I’m rewatching The OC right now (haha) as well as keeping up with a million other shows including one of my favorites, Devious Maids. Guilt is pretty interesting but, of course, they said it’s in NO WAY related to Amanda Knox. Whateva. As for The Bachelorette, there’s something about Chase that I seem to like, but I don’t really see her choosing him. I can agree with you about Luke though!!

HAHA I’m glad to hear it!! The OC! I haven’t re-watched it in years. Luckily, I have such a bad memory that sometimes it’s like watching it for the first time again because I barely remember anything that happened the first time around haha!! I couldn’t make Devious Maids happen, for some reason!! I tried watching a bunch of episodes and I just never felt it! Granted, I loved Desperate Housewives, but IDK what I didn’t like about Devious Maids. Should I give it another chance?? The girl in Guilt also reminds me of someone, but I can’t figure out who. Re: CHASE — ok, he’s totally a mix of Tanner (from Kaitlyn’s season) and Chris B. right?!? LOL!

If you didn’t like the first few episodes of Devious Maids, you probably won’t like the rest. AHHH, the girl in Guilt definitely reminds me of someone else too but I can’t put my finger on who!! Okay so Chase and Tanner have almost the exact same demeanor, and now that you’ve pointed it out, I just will not be able to “unsee” that.
