By now you surely must have noticed that I’m on a major floral kick! Some may call florals for spring cliché, but I call it classic. Truth be told, I wear florals year round, but spring brings about some of the prettiest blooms. I fell in love with the cutout on this dress! It made it just a little more exciting and added just a little bit of edge to the feminine silhouette and style. Honestly, without the cutout, I probably wouldn’t have glanced at the dress twice! True story: three teenage girls apprehended me at Target and complimented me on it.
I think the dress is actually really versatile! Dress it down with a pretty flat sandal, lose the jean jacket or even swap it out for a blazer and you totally change up the vibe!
So I need to be 100% transparent with you. I was like, “oh yeah, girl, you need a Spanx if you’re going to be rocking a cutout.” Spoiler alert: that was a terrible idea. If you snag this dress, which you should, DO NOT TRY TO WEAR A SPANX UNDER IT. I didn’t notice it until we started shooting… the Spanx? basically just created a weird fat roll that kept popping up in the cutout. Not cute. WHY WHY WHY? The second I took the Spanx off, the dress looked 1000 times better. That’s what I get for trying to fool ya with a Spanx. Lesson learned. If you’re working a cutout situation… just say no to Spanx.
