Event Recap: Gap Styld By Summer Trend Event at Aventura Mall

As you may remember, last Thursday I hosted a summer dress event at the Aventura Mall Gap. The pros at Elle.com styled some fun summer looks to inspire the evening. I had a great time, shopping with readers and customers, styling fun summer looks, and offering tips on how to wear some of summer’s trickier trends. I fueled up with yummy espresso shots from Nespresso, nibbled on delish cupcakes from Lux & Cupcakes, and made my very own peony petal paperweight at the DIY station.  Here are just a few of the tips I shared:

To Keep a Maxi Modern…

…pair it with a pair of flat sandals.

…tie on a chambray shirt. (Like I did!)

…accessorize with some cool and unexpected jewels.

How to Wear Culottes…

…pair with a slouchy tank or tee.

…dress it up by pairing with some height; a wedge or a heel and throwing on a jacket or blazer

…or keep it casual with an easy slip on sneaker or a flat sandal.

…stay away from a fitted top; it’ll look dated

How to Style Overalls…

…pair with a tank or tee that has a higher neck.

…style with a sleeveless button down (buttoned up all the way)

…add a wedge for some height or pair it with a flat sandal or sneaker to keep it casual.
