Dress Like Olivia Pope: The Limited Scandal Collection

Calling all gladiators! If you’re a fan of Kerry Washington’s stylish Olivia Pope on Scandal, get excited. This fall, The Limited is collaborating with Washington and Scandal costume designer Lyn Paolo to bring an Olivia Pope-inspired collection to stores. The 42 piece collection will retail between $49-$248 and debut in 250 stores and online. The Limited Scandal collection will be worn by Kerry on the show, although she’ll still continue to wear other brands and designers as well. Via WWD, earlier this week Kerry spoke about the collab saying, “People who love the look of the show can now step into this world in a way that is affordable and accessible because not everybody can afford to have the clothes they see on the show.”

I personally think this is a great collaboration and organic, natural partnership. There’s been a really interesting evolution in on-screen style in recent years, leaning more towards elegance, simplicity and modernity. Over-the-top fashion icons like Carrie Bradshaw seem to be a thing of the past, replaced with minimalists like Robin Wright in House of Cards. Whereas I tend to be more of the Carrie Bradshaw school of fashion, I can appreciate a minimalist fashion moment. I think that fashion icons like Olivia Pope are more realistic and dress how real, professional women dress. I’m looking forward to seeing the collection!
