Bell Sleeve T Shirt Dress + Are Birthdays Still Fun?

Hope you had a great weekend! Friday was my birthday, so this whole weekend was basically birthday weekend. You know how it is. I had a really nice bday; Friday afternoon I went to lunch with one of my oldest and best friends, and then we got cupcakes and I got a manicure. Friday night I went to dinner with my mom and sister Kristen and then my baby sister Kaitlyn drove down from FSU for the weekend! Saturday was my little cousin’s birthday party, but we celebrated together and it was perfect! Then it was time to pack up because Sunday we drove to Tallahassee for a few days.

I swear, once you turn 21, birthdays are so weird! I realized a few months ago that I’ve been telling people I was 31… but really, I was 32. (33 now!) I mean, seriously, who forgets how old they are?!? I guess I just don’t FEEL 33. Does that happen to anyone else? Or is that just, like, #oldpeopleproblems LOL.

Part of me really loves birthdays, but getting older is not necessarily exciting. Cake, presents, who doesn’t love that? When you’re younger, you just want to be older. You can’t wait to turn 16, then 18, then 21. After 21… there are not really any fun landmark bdays, right? Are birthdays just not fun anymore? What do you guys think?

Anyway, I didn’t really shoot anything special this year for my birthday. Truthfully, it snuck up on me! So, no fun bday post with balloons and tutus lol.

Instead, I’m sharing a really cute, every day look. You know that I am ALL about a t shirt dress these days. I spotted this one online at LOFT during one of their big sales and was instantly drawn to the tiered bell sleeve style. It gives the classic old t shirt dress a fresh spin and makes it look a little more polished, don’t you think? I am so, so into this mauve color right now for fall… and it’s EVERYWHERE lately. I’m willing to even call it the color of the season. I have found myself ordering everything in this dusty mauve shade… #notsorry.

I ordered a medium, but ordered a PETITE size. I love LOFT’s petite sizing! I’m only 5’2, so if I can do a petite size, I always will. The proportions are just so much better, especially when you’re ordering something that’s a little on the longer side, or something that could read as unflattering, you know? I highly recommend this dress!

I topped it with this chunky knit sleeveless waterfall cardigan. I am obsessed with this sleeveless cardi! It’s perfect to layer over basically everything. I wore it on the plane to fly to Atlanta and it was the perfect travel piece. (It’s great for Miami and our weird non-fall fall!) I’ve thrown it on over jeans, over leggings, over joggers, over dresses… it works with EVERYTHING in my closet, not kidding.
