With winter behind us and spring officially here, my skin was definitely in need of a little extra TLC this year. Spending the winter in Georgia and bouncing between Savannah and Miami, my skin kind of doesn’t know what to think! I was in need of a major reset and when I heard about the HydraFacial, I knew it was something I absolutely needed to try. I visited BayPointe Dermatology in Miami, but don’t worry, the treatment is available at many dermatologist offices and spas around the country. (More on info on where you can schedule a HydraFacial here!)
What’s a HydraFacial?
The HydraFacial is a 3 step, 30 minute procedure that promises instant, noticeable results with no downtime or irritation… pretty rare for facials, tbh. Specific treatments are personalized to you and your skincare concerns; everything from acne to anti-aging. (For me, we went with anti-aging!)
Basically, the procedure simultaneously exfoliates, removing dead skin and extracts impurities, while delivering the new skin with hydration and serums. I saw the gunky canister of what they removed from my pores… and it was pretty gross. I have a pretty thorough skincare routine and pride myself on taking great care of my skin… so you can imagine how surprised I was at how much gunk there was in my pores!
The main selling point is healthy, moisturized, glow-y skin. So did it deliver?
My Thoughts
My skin actually looked amazing right away. There was a little redness from a few places I needed extractions, but I went out to dinner makeup free that night and felt great. I thought my skin definitely looked glowy and dewy and I felt like it was really clean and hydrated. (I’m kind of addicted now!) The procedure was very soothing and relaxing.
With regular use, HydraFacial claims to deliver long lasting results and dramatically improved texture, hydration, and a reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
