Taking a spin through some of my fave retailers it’s immediately evident that Self Portrait dresses are probably one of the most knocked off dress brand right now. What girl doesn’t want a perfect lace dress for spring? Especially with wedding season upon us, the hunt for little lace dresses is on. So many showers, weddings and brunches to attend come spring. I’m always down for a lace dress, let’s get real, but who wants to spend $500 on a sundress? Not this girl. I’ve been hunting down great dupes all year and I’ve found THE BEST retailer that offers flawless Self Portrait lookalikes is Bloomingdale’s. The Bloomingdale’s private label brand Aqua is constantly churning out awesome affordable versions of my favorite designer dresses. (BTW– this is NOT sponsored, I just really love Aqua dresses and genuinely think they offer the best versions!)
I spotted this dress on the rack and was totally sold on the spot. I love the white peplum and the lace trim is really nice quality. There’s a very subtle swiss dot pattern that I’m obsessed with, it just gives a little extra detail. Honestly, it’s shocking that this dress rings up at $88. It definitely looks way more expensive! Size up in Aqua… I’m wearing a large! (Ouch, I know.)
You know I’m always styling dressy dresses down lol! Throwing on a jean jacket and flat sandals is the easiest way to do this. This dress would totally be great for a dressier occasion, just swap out the jewels and the flats for heels and lose the jacket. I love the idea of colorful pom poms with white… it just gives it some pop.
BTW– my favorite pom pom sandals from last summer are BACK IN STOCK!! Size down a half size. I’m a 6.5 and I ordered them in a 6. The 7 was HUGE on me, they fit my sister who is an 8!
