Happy Spring! In case you don’t know, today is officially the first day of spring. Living in Miami, we don’t really get the full experience of having four seasons. The New Yorker in me, however, definitely feels the stir of excitement associated with the beginning of a new sartorial season. Spring is a season of renewal and new beginnings. (Don’t you just love that?) And in the spirit of the season, I want to take the leap and try five cool denim trends taking over the fashion market. Here are the five styles I’m trying:
Railroad Stripe Boyfriends: It’s safe to say that the boyfriend style is officially a wardrobe staple. (I couldn’t be happier, to be honest.)This season, I’m SO intrigued by the idea of rocking a printed version… plus, the stripe on this pair from Old Navy is so subtle, it adds a little bit of interest without being too much.
Denim Pencil Skirt: Ok, ok, I know what you’re thinking. WHAT?! ARE WE DOING THIS? The answer is yes. To me, a denim pencil skirt feels like a total fashion faux pas- so naturally, I’m intrigued by the notion of finding ways to make it chic. I think this season I’ll give it a try. I love a fashion challenge!
J Brand Stocking Jean: First, the denim masters over at J Brand debuted the Photoready jean- a jean so perfect it made your butt look photoshopped. Their newest brainstorm? The stocking jean. Hosiery + Denim combined. I am definitely intrigued. Plus, they sound super cozy.
Denim Cutoff Overalls: I never thought I’d see the day that overalls made it back onto my fashion radar… yet, here we are. The cut and length of the new styles somehow make the trend modern and fresh. I’m dying to give it a try!
White Skinny Crop: Easily the no-brainer, I know what you’re thinking. White denim isn’t necessarily a “new” trend. But I haven’t really been big on the “white jeans” trend before, so it’s new to me! Love an ankle cropped style jean and in white, they’re even more perfect for spring.

I’m so on the fence with the overall trend. I mean, the last time I wore them, I think I must have been 8-years old! I’ve seen them all over the net and in shops, but I don’t know if I’ll take the plunge on that one!
